What is Project One?

Seven Years ago Follow began our Sustainable Performance Range (S.P.R) - born from a realisation that our biggest impact on the environment comes from the materials in our product. So we made a promise to become more sustainable. Today we renew this promise is the form of Project One — An undertaking by us to make decisions in our design and construction process, that attempts to balance ourselves with the surroundings we utilise. Based not solely on profit but on a duty.

12% Recycled SP Material.

Our Outer Shell Material for our Outdoors Spray Jackets utilise a 12% Recycled Spandex Material. While 12% is a small step, it highlights the realities of materials available, and while it may be a small percentage it is a symbol of our commitment to utilise every opportunity we can.

Biodegradable Shipping Bags.

Follow Product arrives in a biodegradable shipping bag. This decision is a simple one for most, yet we feel we are unique in our market for making this choice.

80 Bottle in Every P1 Life Vest.

81.9 bottles in the Mens and 78.6 bottles in the Women’s to be precise. Hopefully, we’ll run out of plastic bottles to make it with one day, but until then we can at least make something of all that junk.

Recyclable Chevron Polyester.

Our Project One marked vests feature our Recyclable Chevron Polyester. With an Enhanced touch on the skin and a smooth overall finish, its supreme 4-way stretch allows for a freedom of movement not available in a recyclable materials until now. It sacrifices neither quality nor the earth.

100% Recycled Polyester Microfibre.

Project One Towelie is made from is made from 100% recycled polyester plush microfibre. Premium microfibre made from 100% post consumer recycled material.

100% Recycled Polyester Knit.

All our Follow Sun Tees are made from 100% recycled polyester knit. Recycled polyester is just as good as virgin polyester but takes less resources to make - in terms of quality it is identical to virgin polyester but its production requires 59 percent less energy.

83% Recycled Nylon Outer.

Our P1 Wetsuits utilise our 83% recycled Nylon Outer. The recycling sources include waste plastics from the ocean, fishing nets and production waste, which are depolymerized and polymerized to achieve the purpose of recycling. The use of recycled fabric can reduce the waste, lower the dependency on petrochemical materials and impact on the environment.

Oyster Shell-Based Neoprene.

Our P1 Wetsuits utilise an Oyster-Shell based neoprene; a natural, recycled and renewable product made from grinding of oyster shells. Limestone mining causes widespread disturbance in the environment. A myriad of impacts are observed including changes in land use patterns, habitat loss, higher noise levels, dust emissions and changes in aquifer regimes.

We Are One

We are one planet. We are one environment. This is not a luxury. This is not a gimmick. Day by day, week by week, year by year.We must strive to be better version of ourselves.
Working only with socially compliant factories and manufacturers of textiles, we are designing and producing a recyclable neoprene made for the very purpose to reduce the waist that we, as a company, help produce. We understand that we are our product. So we must source low-impact textiles, recycled neoprene, sustainable finishes & adhesives, and whenever possible implement them within our construction to limit our environmental impact. We look for durable, recyclable, and biodegradable element at every step. And construct with a policy that we ‘must’ build our product to last.
